Last night's sunset at around 7:10 PM

One thing that I consider a sign of spring is all the rain. There is a lot of rain in the spring. Also, there is the saying April showers bring May flowers. So it feels like April which is the first whole month of spring and May and flowers aren't to far off. Also, Yesterday sunset was at about 7:10 PM. Another big sign is the actual first day of spring and the Vernal Equinox (same thing) passed. That is the biggest sign of spring to me. A third sign is today is the second day of Passover. Passover is a Jewish holiday and it usualy comes around April Vacation, so I asosciate it with spring.

I also saw some plants and animals this week. I saw skunk cabbage in the swamp behind my school. According to my science teacher skunk cabbages are some of the first plants to appear in swamps. I also have been noticing a lot of trees starting to have buds. The last sign I found was an American Robin. I took a picture yesterday and I have heard it a lot the past few days. It was my science teacher's bird of the week this week because it is just starting to appear. It was the first bird I have been able identify this spring so it is a sign to me. That is all the Signs of Spring I have seen this week.

The Weather Is Really Warm

This week the first sign of spring I noticed was, the weather. It has been extremely warm, especially the past two days. Yesterday and today the temperature hit 65 degrees. Also, the skies have been clear which I group with spring and summer. Also, because of the weather, I have began to walk home regulary and yesterday I did something outside for the first time since fall (that wasn't shoveling). Another sign this week was, daylight savings. It makes the sun set later; which makes it feel more like spring. Also, sunset is now at about 6:55 PM.

One other big sign is that there are only 2 days left until spring. That sign is important to me because nothing reminds me more of spring than spring itself. I also say a lot of plants and animals the past week. One was a duck. It is important because it means the ice on lakes is melting. Also, it is another animal that I think of as spring. I also, saw some berries growing in my front yard. Those are the first berries I have seen since fall. In my backyard, there are some flowers starting to grow and those will be the first first flowers I see. Those are all my signs of spring this week.

It is Really, Really Warm out!

Around my house and on the route home from school

The first sign of spring I saw this week was the insanely warm weather. According to my dad's car thermometer, the tempeture hit 66 degrees F! It has been sunny and never dropped below 50 degrees F during the day in the past three days.

Also, because of the warm weather, it was the first time since fall that we went outside during lunch. That to me is a big landmark of spring. I also walked home for the first time since fall today. A third first was, I walked home in only a t-shirt, not wearing a jacket. Another sign was, that sunset was not until 5:45 PM. Last post, sunset was at 5:30 PM. Also, there was a layer of ice covering my pool cover, but as of today it is 90% melted. The final sign of spring I heard was birds every morning and night at sunrise and sunset. Those are all of my signs of spring this time.
